A useful map, not an authority.

These terms apply when you use the Atlas Revealed website or mobile apps. By using Atlas Revealed, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

Atlas Revealed is an educational tool for visually comparing the area, population, and population density of geographic places. It works without an account and is provided by BuildingRome Studio. Optional Daily emails and inquiry forms are convenience services, not requirements for using the app.

2. Educational use and data limitations

Atlas Revealed is not a surveying, navigation, legal, demographic, diplomatic, or emergency-response tool. Geometry is simplified, population figures come from different published years, some regional population values are unavailable, and errors can occur. Verify important decisions against authoritative, current sources.

Names, boundaries, labels, and grouping choices are used for visualization and do not express a position on legal status, sovereignty, or endorsement. Source notes and known limitations are available inside the app.

3. Permission to use Atlas Revealed

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Atlas Revealed for personal, educational, and internal business purposes, subject to these terms and applicable law. This permission does not transfer ownership of the app, its design, branding, or original software.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Atlas Revealed to break the law, interfere with the service, bypass security or rate-limit controls, submit spam or abusive messages, impersonate another person, subscribe an address without permission, distribute malware, misrepresent the app or its data as authoritative, or infringe another person's rights. Reasonable linking, classroom use, and sharing images or comparison links generated by the app are welcome.

5. Data sources and intellectual property

Atlas Revealed includes data derived from sources such as Natural Earth, the World Bank, the U.S. Census, and public Basemap geometry. Those materials remain subject to their respective notices, licenses, and public-domain status. Atlas Revealed names, logos, interface design, and original code are owned by BuildingRome Studio or its licensors unless stated otherwise.

6. Third-party services

The website may rely on Vercel for hosting and aggregate Web Analytics. Optional email features and anonymous aggregate reliability counters rely on Supabase; Resend provides email delivery. Native apps rely on Apple or Google distribution and operating-system services. Links and Share-sheet destinations are controlled by third parties. Their terms and policies apply to their services; we are not responsible for their content or conduct.

7. Email preferences

You may subscribe only an address you control or are authorized to use. A Daily subscription is inactive until confirmed. You can unsubscribe using the link in any reminder. We may suppress, pause, or end email delivery to protect deliverability, address abuse, comply with law, or discontinue the feature. Email timing is approximate and delivery is not guaranteed.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, datasets, or the service. Offline operation can depend on a successful prior download or app installation. We do not promise uninterrupted access, permanent storage of comparisons, or compatibility with every device.

9. No warranties

To the extent permitted by law, Atlas Revealed is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or continuous availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, BuildingRome Studio and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities, arising from use of or inability to use Atlas Revealed. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Updates to these terms

We may revise these terms as the product changes. We will update the effective date above. Continuing to use Atlas Revealed after a revision means you accept the updated terms.

12. General terms and contact

If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Questions can be sent to projects@buildingrome.dev.
